UNIVERSAL HOUSING
Universal Housing
All residential property, including but not limited to: single family residences, apartment complexes, short term rental housing, “Corporate Housing”, dormitories, or extended stay quarters, shall be federalized under the following conditions
Private homeowners residing in, paying for, or otherwise occupying their private residence shall maintain their ownership rights without change
Any and all properties owned outside of a primary residence shall be federalized, without compensation, recourse, or appeal
Any and all public housing, or other livable quarters as outlined above, or that could be defined herein shall similarly be federalized, without compensation, recourse or appeal
Housing shall continue to be accessible without discrimination, however, instead of a “market” rate or determination of property value, all rent, payments, etc. shall be a function of base compensation and 10% thereof.
This means, individuals may continue to purchase homes, however, the cost of the home shall be determined based on the income of the individual, not a given market trend, or worse, manipulated market trend
Furthermore, this access to housing shall be a first come first serve basis as in any housing market
Housing communities, or other public housing accommodations shall be provisionally stratified to accommodate different criteria of tenant
Specifically, the intention of creating “Night Shift” communities, Commuter communities, young family communities, 55+ communities (keeping them in place or establishing new ones as needed), Professional Workers Communities, etc. to help facilitate a living condition suitable for all tenants, with the explicit intention of improving community, neighbor, and societal relationships.
The Unhoused, will be given top priority in becoming housed with this Universal Housing program, and may be afforded the opportunity for a single-family, stand-alone residence, or community living.
The Unhoused will be similarly given government assistance in the form of social services to help achieve skills, training, therapy, treatment, or any other support they may require in order to re enter society in the capacity that they are able
For those unhoused that are unable to re enter society due to age, disability, illness, or similar, they will be similarly supported and provided accommodations commensurate to their needs, ensuring quality of life and enjoyment.
Luxury housing shall either be demolished and the land repurposed for the greater good of the community, repurposed as multifamily living accommodations, or be treated as special recognition for individuals who have left a significant meritorious mark upon their community or society as whole.
Should the luxury housing be slated for reward purposes, the only individuals eligible are those who have contributed to society through their works, or deeds. This means, explicitly, financial investment, donations, endowments, or other similar monetary actions shall be summarily refused in consideration of merit. Ideally meritorious service that would be considered are: Medical advancements or discoveries that impact a double digit integer percentage of the population, Academic achievements such as improved curriculum that translates to higher graduation or literacy rates, feats of engineering that improve community life, workers who significantly improve work place safety, or make recommendations for quality, heroic acts, documented dedication to the community over an established period of time, citizen Petition to present a luxury accommodation to a deserving individual, local ordinance to offer the luxury property through lottery, etc.
Athletic achievements can be rewarded for a given time period provisionally 1 year at a time, and those properties shall be set aside accordingly
