MODERNIZING AGRICULTURE

Modernizing Agriculture

Restoring Agriculture to Rural America

  • Immediate Federalization of all Privatized Agriculture

  • Redistributing lands, and assets to local farmers who were bought or forced out by private interests

  • Federal procurement of modern equipment respective to the industry at no cost to recipients

  • 10% of federalized agriculture shall be maintained by the USDA to help develop technologies and processes for all areas of Agriculture

  • Agriculture shall henceforth include mandatory agreements to share seeds, husbandry techniques, and other agricultural tradecraft between tradesmen within shared space of the Agricultural Industry

  • An example of this would be that corn farmers shall cross pollinate, or share stronger seeds amongst each other to ensure that the yield of all becomes the best it can be

  • Agricultural yields, whether for human consumption or not, shall fulfill the needs of our nation first, before exports shall be established

  • Since our Agriculture shall be spread across more hands, exports shall be handled by consolidating excess yields, tallying contributions by individual entities, and distributing profits proportionately to the contributed yields

  • Effectively this means if 20 farmers provide a sum total of 100 tons of corn, those who provided 1 ton shall receive 1% of trade profits, those provide 10 tons shall receive 10% of trade profits, etc.

  • The Agricultural Industry may evolve with the times, however, Industry Professionals shall only be allowed to form cooperatives, or unions rather than allow for one Industry Professional to acquire a majority share of the market

USDA Responsibilities

  • The USDA shall receive funding for staffing, research, and development of automation within the Agricultural Industry

  • The USDA shall utilize the Federalized Agricultural domains to conduct the research and development adhering to environmental protection provisions

  • Industry professionals may volunteer to utilize these technologies and processes on no more than 10% of their controlled space to aid the USDA in their pursuits

  • Industry Professionals shall provide meaningful feedback to the USDA efforts to ensure the best quality equipment, processes, and procedures that similarly have no net negative impact on the affected environment

  • Regulating consumer foods shall include a greater policing of harmful chemicals, preservatives, and other health risks with the ultimate goal of eliminating them upon discovery

  • Genetically Modified Organisms, or GMO’s are not considered intrinsically unsafe, however, the implementation, and cultivation of these GMO’s whether to cross breed edible foods, or increase yield, shall have no genetic impacts on the consumer, including birth defects, reduction in nutrients, or carcinogens

  • The USDA shall be the final authority on the determination of food safety; however, Industry Professionals may present legitimate concerns to the USDA, and the USDA must investigate within 30 days of receipt of these concerns, and provide publicly the report of findings, including a plain language version that the general public may understand
